It was confirmed yesterday.

Earlier this week a fan met the band outside their studio in Vancouver, and asked them several questions about the seventh album, which gave a lot of new information about the album. The band was in the process of recording a making of with their video manager Tom Kirk, when they were met by the fan, which also was hinted the day before, when the band posted a photo of the drummer, Dom Howard, on a camera screen.

Yesterday the band returned to UK, to take a break after two weeks of non-stop recording of their new album in The Warehouse Studios in Vancouver, however they will return to Vancouver in November to start mixing the album and do some more recordings as well.

A photo was also posted on Instagram yesterday, with the caption “End of first session. It’s been emotional.”

Their bassist, Chris Wolstenholme, told that they’d chosen to record in The Warehouse Studios to do something different. Another reason was because the studio has a very rare mixer.

According to the fans some fans who met the band, Matt also said that the album will contain “heavy riffs” similar to the bands 2003-album Absolution and their 2006-album Black Holes and Revelations.

On their latest album The 2nd Law their bassist sang on two songs, that he’d also written himself, but he stated that there wont be any songs on the new album, where he’s singing the lead vocals, as he didn’t like it.

Below you can see a photo of the meeting. From the left: Bassist, Chris Wolstenholme, the fan and drummer, Dom Howard.

Previously Bellamy hinted different things about the album. He’s for example hinted that the album will have themes like “deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3”. He’s also talked about a sequel to the band’s 2001-song “Citizen Erased“, which is favorite for many fans, and he said that people will like it. Earlier he’s said that guitar solos were uncool, but now he’s said, that he has to take back his words, because there will be some guitar solos on the new album. All of this connects with a statement the band has kept from the start, which is that they’ll go back to basics with a more heavy sound.

The album is due to a release in Summer 2015.

Here’s a couple of more photos from the band’s Instagram account:
